Construction workers in the UK are 100 times more likely to die from an occupational disease than a workplace accident.”

Grydale® are proud to be members of the Health in Construction Leadership Group (HCLG) in the UK. We hope to be able to support their work through raising awareness of new engineering control solutions for the management of dust within construction industries.

The HCLG was formed after a challenge from the Health and Safety Executive Construction Industry Advisory Committee (ConIAC) for the industry to do more to ‘Think Health’ and respond to the influence of ‘Construction 2025’, the UK Industry Strategy for Construction.

Respirable diseases are a key focus area for the group, who are committed to eliminating respiratory disease in the construction sector and raise awareness of the causes of respiratory disease as well as the appropriate control measures which should be in place to protect workers.

The HCLG encourages construction employers to adopt the principles of the hierarchy of control and to eliminate hazards from construction processes where possible.

Grydale® range of Mobile Dust Collectors have proven to be an effective ‘engineering control’ to help to mitigate the risks associated with Dust in both above and below ground applications within Tunnelling, Mining, Quarrying, Excavation, Abrasive Blasting, Demolition and Recycling along with Traditional Manufacturing Industries. We will be showcasing more about our solutions within these different industries, or get in touch to find out more.
